Hi, I'm Courtney! I'm an illustrator and graphic designer, specializing in children's book illustration. I love to create all things cute, colorful, and whimsical.

 

As an illustrator, I have illustrated five children's books to date including "Caterpillar Cat" by Kristi Anderson and "The Adventures of Lizzy & Gabby"series by Nesta West. I started illustrating children's books in high school and have been doing it ever since. My art is created digitally, freehand with a stylus. Each piece involves thousands of individual strokes, making for a painterly style. I love to illustrate stories involving kids interacting with animals, diverse characters, love and kindness, and a bit of magic.

For graphic design, I have experience working on a variety of projects, both print and digital. I earned an Associate's degree in Graphic Design in 2021 and am proficient in Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, and Xd. I have worked within existing brand guidelines and created new unique brand identities. I love putting myself in other people's shoes and trying to understand their unique view of the world. Through this and my creativity, I am able to create designs that are both aesthetically appealing and effective that resonates with the intended audience and leaves a lasting impression.

In my free time, I like to create magical portrait art that I post on my Instagram (@crider.illustrations) and sell as prints at art fairs. I also love playing with my 3 cats, learning about my faith, and spending time with friends and family.
